About the role
We're looking for a motivated Draftsperson to join our team, supporting the drafting and detailing of facade cladding and architectural steel projects from concept through to fabrication. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced construction setting and enjoys working across multiple projects at once.
Key responsibilities
- Read and interpret architectural drawing packages, structural drawings, and specifications
- Identify potential clashes or constraints within drawings and propose practical solutions for approval
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and project managers to resolve design queries (RFIs)
- Produce shop drawings for IFA (Issued for Approval) and IFC (Issued for Construction) stages
- Prepare detailed fabrication drawings for workshop production
- Produce installation drawings and site layout drawings
- Maintain accurate drawing registers and revision control
- Update drawings based on markups, RFIs, and site feedback
- Ensure drawings comply with relevant Australian Standards and project specifications
- Liaise with the workshop team to ensure drawings are practical for manufacture
About you
- Experience in the construction industry, ideally within facade cladding or architectural steel
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Vectorworks and Microsoft Office is highly regarded
- Proficiency in BIM tools and CNC programming is highly regarded
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A collaborative team player who works well with designers, engineers, and site teams
- Willingness to learn, with the ability to adapt quickly between different projects and tasks
- Strong multitasking skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Own reliable vehicle (site visits/travel between locations may be required)
