Position Vacant: Domestic Sewing Machine Mechanic

Location: The Sewing Hub – Loganholme, QLD

At The Sewing Hub, we live and breathe all things creative! We are a busy, fast-growing shop with a vibrant, supportive, and fun team atmosphere. Due to our expanding customer base and increasing demand, we are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Sewing Machine Mechanic to join our crew.

The Role

As our mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing a wide variety of machines to keep our community sewing smoothly. , this is a Mechanic position, not a sewing machinist/operator role.

Key Responsibilities:

- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults accurately.
- Perform routine servicing, fine-tuning, and complex repairs on domestic sewing machines, overlockers, and embroidery machines across all major makes and models.
- Maintain a clean organized workshop and records.
- Communicate technical issues clearly to our administration/sales team and customers where needed.

About You We are looking for someone who takes pride and precision in their work, enjoys problem-solving, and thrives in a lively team environment.

Qualifications & Experience:





- Previous mechanic experience servicing sewing machines is highly advantageous.
- Mechanical or electrical trade background (e.g., small engine repair, typewriter/precision mechanical repair, electronics) with a strong aptitude for mechanical troubleshooting will also be considered.
- Knowledge of domestic sewing machines, overlockers, and embroidery units across various brands (e.g., Brother, Janome, Bernina, Elna, Singer etc).
- Bonus: Experience servicing industrial sewing machinery would be a plus!
- Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.
