Itch Recruitment
Port Hedland
Serious money... and a roster suited to you... Underground and Surface
You keep rigs alive for a living. Roles suited to you and the lifestyle outside of work you want.
Why this gig is actually worth a look
- $85-$100 per hour, straight up, for people who know what they are doing
- Day shift only, your body clock finally gets a win, and you remember what sunlight looks like
- All roster types are open for discussion; you get a say instead of “take it or leave it”
- Extensively tooled workshops on large exploration sites, you bring the know-how, they bring the toys
- Work on Schramm, Sandvik, UDR rigs, Hurricane boosters and Sullair or IR compressors, proper kit, not museum pieces
- Career progression, if you want it, they promote from within
- No egos, no drama, just adults who turn up, fix gear, have a laugh and go home in one piece
What you will actually be doing
- Keeping drill rigs and compressors in top condition, inspections, diagnostics, repairs and preventative maintenance
- Tackling hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic issues without needing someone to hold your hand
- Working with operators and drillers so breakdowns are short and production keeps moving
- Keeping your paperwork tight, service records,
parts usage and maintenance logs that make sense
If you are the type who hears a strange noise and already knows what is about to fail, you will fit in.
Who you are
You are a fitter with a positive head on your shoulders. You back yourself, you do not cut corners, and you do not need someone standing over you to do the right thing.
You bring
- Trade qualification, HD Fitter, Mechanical Fitter or similar
- Solid drill rig and compressor experience, Schramm, Sandvik, UDR, boosters and big air
- Manual open driver's licence (HR-B a bonus)
- National Police Clearance, or willing to get one
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and ongoing drug and alcohol screening
- Attention to detail, pride in your work and a low ego attitude
Location FIFO from Perth to large exploration sites in Western Australia.
