About the role

Discover and Learn Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) to join our team on a full time basis. Located in Heatherbrae NSW 2324, this role is fundamental to creating a nurturing, stimulating and safe learning environment for young children. As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting the early development, learning and wellbeing of children in our care, whilst working collaboratively with families and colleagues to deliver high-quality early childhood education and care services.

Key responsibilities

- Planning, implementing and evaluating age-appropriate learning experiences and activities that promote children's cognitive, physical, social and emotional development

- Fostering a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where all children feel valued and encouraged to learn and explore

- Observing and documenting children's progress, development and learning outcomes in accordance with the Early Years Learning Framework

- Building positive relationships with children and their families, maintaining open communication and providing regular updates on progress and achievements

- Supporting children's health, safety and wellbeing, including hygiene routines, nutrition and rest periods

- Collaborating with colleagues to maintain a clean, organised and stimulating learning space with appropriate resources and materials

- Responding sensitively to children's individual needs and supporting those requiring additional assistance or intervention

- Contributing to the development and review of centre policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements





- Engaging in professional development and staying current with best practice in early childhood education

- Participating in staff meetings, training sessions and team planning activities

What we're looking for

- A current Early Childhood Teacher qualification or working towards ECT

- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) clearance for New South Wales

- First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain these qualifications

- Strong understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and current early childhood education philosophies and practices

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
- A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development

- Patience, creativity and flexibility in responding to the diverse needs of children in your care

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team

- Strong organisational and time management skills
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional standards

- Experience in a childcare or early learning setting is desirable
