Role Description The Early Childhood Teacher & Educational Leader is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating developmentally appropriate learning programs for children in line with the Early Years Learning Framework. Day-to-day tasks include leading educational practice, guiding and mentoring educators, observing and documenting children’s learning, and communicating with families about children’s progress and wellbeing. The role involves ensuring that the learning environment is safe, inclusive, and engaging, and that centre policies and regulatory requirements are consistently met.

The Early Childhood

Teacher & Educational Leader will collaborate with the team to drive continuous improvement, support reflective practice, and build strong connections with the local community. This is a full-time, on-site role based at Garfield Childcare Centre in Parramatta, NSW.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage a room in accordance with the EYLF and National Quality Standards (NQS).
- Plan, implement, and evaluate meaningful and engaging educational programs with child’s interest.
- Experience in preparation and site visit during Assessment and Rating process (A&R;) - would be an advantage to your application
- Mentor and support educators,



fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.
- Build strong, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Able to support children with additional needs
- Plans and engages with pre-primary programs to encourage children to develop a wide variety of skills including speech, reading, writing, motor skills and social interactions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and centre policies.
- Ability to handle assessment and rating.

Qualifications:

- Relevant early childhood teaching qualification (e.g., Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent) and current accreditation/registration as required in NSW.
- Strong knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Framework, and contemporary early childhood pedagogy.
- Experience in curriculum planning, documentation of children’s learning, and assessment for learning.
- Demonstrated skills in educational leadership, including mentoring, coaching, and supporting a team of educators.
- Proven ability to build respectful, collaborative relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to engage diverse communities.
- Commitment to inclusive practice, child safety, and wellbeing, including understanding of safeguarding and duty-of-care responsibilities.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet regulatory and documentation requirements.
- Current Working with Children Check, First Aid, CPR, and Anaphylaxis/Asthma management certifications (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience in reflective practice, continuous quality improvement, and participation in assessment and rating processes is highly regarded.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience as an Educational Leader.

Expected Salary $80,000-$99,000
