Role Description The ECC Team Lead is a full time, on-site position based at our Campbelltown, NSW hospital, responsible for coordinating and overseeing the emergency and critical care team during shifts. This role includes leading clinical workflows, triaging emergency cases, supporting veterinarians and nurses in delivering timely, high-quality care, and ensuring adherence to hospital protocols and safety standards.

The ECC Team Lead will manage team communication, allocate resources, and assist with complex procedures and critical patient monitoring. Day-to-day responsibilities also include mentoring and training team members, supporting client communication in high-stress situations, and collaborating with other departments to maintain continuity of care.



The role involves participating in shift handovers, contributing to case reviews, and helping optimise processes that enhance patient outcomes and client experience.

Qualifications

- Strong clinical experience in emergency and critical care within a veterinary hospital, with the ability to manage high-acuity cases and prioritize multiple patients safely.
- Leadership and team coordination skills, including experience supervising or mentoring veterinary nurses or clinicians in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and client service skills, with the ability to provide clear explanations, empathy, and support to pet owners during emergencies.
- Sound decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, including confidence in triage, workflow management, and protocol adherence.
- Relevant veterinary qualification (e.g., degree in veterinary science or veterinary nursing) and current registration or eligibility to practice in NSW.
- Comfort working in a 24/7 emergency setting, including flexibility to work evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Experience with advanced diagnostics, anesthesia, surgery assistance, and intensive care monitoring is highly advantageous.
