We're after Leading Hand Electricians who can run a team on the tools, keep the work protected and to a high standard, and report back to our Electrical Supervisors with confidence. Work spans Industrial, Commercial, EEHA and Instrumentation projects and maintenance - full-time roles available, with start dates in September, October.
The Role
As Leading Hand, you'll be the person on site keeping the crew moving, the client informed, and the standards high. You'll:
- Lead a small team of electricians and apprentices on maintenance and small construction jobs across industrial and commercial sites.
- Report to the Electrical Supervisor on job progress, resourcing and any issues that need escalating.
- Coach and mentor electricians and apprentices on site - showing them the right way to do the job, not just telling them.
- Liaise directly with customers on site, communicating clearly and confidently about what's being done and why.
- Plan and sequence daily tasks so the crew works safely, efficiently and to program.
- Troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation faults and guide the team through the fix.
- Complete and review routine maintenance tasks and reporting with a keen eye for detail.
- Own the quality and safety of your team's work - you're the one your Supervisor can count on to get it right
What We're Looking For
- A genuine leader - someone who steps up, takes ownership, and brings the team with them.
- Proven experience running or leading a small crew, ideally in an industrial or commercial setting.
- A valid electrical licence.
- Confident, clear communicator - comfortable talking directly with clients and explaining the "why" behind the work, not just the "what".
- A natural teacher - happy to mentor electricians and apprentices and lift the standard of the whole team.
- Solid E&I; experience, ideally in heavy industrial environments.
- Comfortable reading technical drawings and translating them into a plan for the crew.
- Sharp problem-solving instincts and an eye for detail.
- Experience with instrument calibration and/or EEHA inspections highly regarded.
- A great attitude - someone who takes safety and quality seriously without taking themselves too seriously.
