Workfast is seeking an experienced Electrician to join the maintenance team at a busy galvanising and steel coating plant in Campbellfield, VIC.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified electrician looking for ongoing work, competitive pay and hands-on industrial experience with a leading company in the steel industry.

The Role

As an Electrician, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing the electrical systems and equipment that keep a busy steel coating plant operating safely and efficiently.

This is a hands-on industrial role suited to an electrician who enjoys fault-finding, preventative maintenance and working around large-scale plant and machinery.

Your Day-to-day Work May Include

- Performing preventative and reactive electrical maintenance across the plant
- Responding to electrical breakdowns and diagnosing faults to minimise downtime
- Fault-finding on motors, machinery, control systems and industrial electrical equipment
- Inspecting, testing, repairing and maintaining electrical equipment and installations
- Working on production and processing equipment throughout the site
- Identifying electrical issues and carrying out repairs safely and efficiently
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, drawings and technical documentation
- Using electrical testing equipment to diagnose faults and verify repairs
- Assisting with the installation, modification and commissioning of electrical equipment
- Supporting the maintenance team with general plant and equipment repairs
- Carrying out routine inspections and preventative maintenance activities
- Working closely with production and maintenance personnel to keep plant operating reliably
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repairs where required




- Ensuring all electrical work is completed in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and site procedures
- Following strict workplace health and safety procedures at all times
- Maintaining a clean, safe and efficient work environment
- Working overtime and Saturdays/weekends when required

About You To Succeed In This Position, You Will Ideally Have

- Relevant electrical trade qualification
- Current Victorian A-Grade Electrical Licence
- Previous experience as an industrial or maintenance electrician
- Experience working around manufacturing, production or heavy industrial equipment
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Good understanding of industrial electrical systems and equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work around plant and machinery
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
- Reliable, punctual and safety-focused approach to work
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production teams
- Current driver's licence and reliable transport
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen
- Full working rights in Australia
