We're seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Employment Coach to join our Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) team based in Edgeworth. This Part-Time - 3 days per week opportunity has become available due to an internal career progression, reflecting Mai-Wel's commitment to developing and supporting our people.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with people, building robust relationships and supporting individuals to identify strengths, address barriers and achieve their employment goals through a personalised, strengths-based approach.

About the Role

As an Employment Coach (IEA), you'll support people to build confidence, develop skills, overcome barriers and secure meaningful, sustainable employment. If you're passionate about empowering others, enjoy working in a front facing, people focused environment and, are driven to create real impact in your community, we'd love to hear from you.

Working closely with participants, employers, training providers, and community partners, you'll help people identify opportunities aligned with their strengths and goals, prepare for work, secure employment opportunities, and to thrive in the workplace.

Key responsibilities include:

- Managing a caseload of participants, providing personalised, strengths-based employment support
- Conducting participant interviews, developing Job Plans and maintaining accurate records within Workforce Australia systems
- Identifying participant strengths, employment goals and development opportunities to build work readiness and capacity
- Connecting participants with training, education and support services that address vocational and non-vocational barriers to employment




- Delivering customised employment approaches, including job development, matching and carving opportunities
- Supporting participants with job search activities, applications, interviews, workplace preparation and placements
- Monitoring participant progress, maintaining accurate records and compliance documentation
- Building strong relationships with employers, community partners and internal stakeholders to achieve sustainable employment outcomes.

Essential Skills & Experience

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

- Experience in employment services, community services, or a similar people-focused role
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage participants, employers and community partners
- Proven administration, organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and KPIs
- Understanding of person-centred, strengths-based approaches and barriers to employment experienced by vulnerable people
- Ability to work collaboratively within a supportive team environment
- Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID009, HLTAID010 and HLTAID011) or willingness to obtain
- Current Drivers Licence, with willingness and ability to travel between offices as required
- ‘Strong’ digital identity verification (MyID app).

Desirable Qualifications & Experience The following will be highly regarded:

- Experience in (or knowledge of) Workforce Australia, Inclusive Employment Australia, or other employment services programs




- Certificate III or higher qualifications in Community Services, Employment Services, Disability, Mental Health, Youth, HR, Business, or a related field
- Understanding of Trauma Informed Care and Organisational Practice
- Cultural awareness and experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and culturally diverse communities
- Knowledge of local labour market opportunities and employer needs.
