Thaddeus Martin Compliance is seeking a Junior Lawyer to join our legal and compliance practice.

n

The role is suited to a lawyer with at least 12 months' relevant legal experience, including experience working with private equity, investment funds and/or fund-of-funds structures. The successful candidate will work across transactional, funds, regulatory and compliance matters for clients operating in the financial services and investment management sectors.

The role

Responsibilities

n

n
- assisting with private equity and investment fund transactions from commencement through execution and closing;
n
- preparing, reviewing and managing transaction and fund documentation;
n
- assisting with fund establishment, investment and related documentation;
n
- coordinating transaction execution, conditions precedent, completion requirements and deal closings;
n
- conducting and reviewingKYC and AML/CTF due diligence;
n
- assisting with Australasian investor onboarding and associated Australian regulatory requirements;
n
- reviewing legal, regulatory and compliance issues affecting investment funds and financial services businesses;
n
- preparing and reviewing compliance and risk reports;
n
- assisting with regulatory, governance and compliance documentation;
n
- working with clients, counterparties, external counsel and other advisers in progressing transactions; and
n




- supporting the firm's broader legal, risk and compliance advisory work.

About you

n

You must have:

n

n
- a recognised law degree and admission as an Australian lawyer;
n
- at least 12-24 months' relevant post-admission legal experience;
n
- demonstrated experience in private equity, investment funds and/or fund-of-funds;
n
- experience preparing or reviewingfund and transaction documentation;
n
- practical experience withKYC, AML/CTF and client/investor due diligence;
n
- experience assisting with or managing transaction execution and closings;
n
- an understanding of regulatory compliance and risk reporting;
n
- robust drafting, analytical and legal research skills;
n
- experience in cross-border Australasian or US financial services;
n
- fluency in Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, or Japanese - additional languages may be considered on a case by case basis;
n
- excellent attention to detail and organisational skills; and
n
- the ability to manage matters independently while working as part of a small professional team.

Experience in Australasian financial services regulation, managed investment structures, corporate transactions or investment management will be highly regarded.

Remuneration

n

$90,000 per annum plus superannuation.
