Senior Travel Operations Specialist – Air Ticketing & GDS SME

Are you the person other ticketing teams call when things get complicated?

n

We're recruiting for a confidential opportunity with a major travel group for a senior air ticketing specialist to step into a broader Travel Operations role as a key GDS and ticketing SME.

n

This is not a traditional corporate travel consultant or ticketing desk position.

n

You'll provide third-level escalation support to offshore ticketing teams, using your expertise to resolve complex issues across:

- Complex issuing, reissuing and refunds
n
- Fare rules and ticketing procedures
n
- Complex international air ticketing
n
- Air content and distribution
n
- Root-cause analysis and operational troubleshooting
n

n

Around three days per week will focus on escalation support, with the remainder dedicated to projects, stakeholder engagement, process improvement and broader operational initiatives.

n

You'll ideally be someone who has built deep air ticketing expertise and is already operating at a senior or SME level.

n

You'll bring:

n

n
- Robust hands-on air ticketing and fulfilment knowledge
n




- Extensive GDS experience — Sabre highly advantageous
n
- Deep knowledge of issuing, exchanges, reissues, refunds and fare rules
n
- Experience handling complex international ticketing scenarios
n
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
n
- Confidence acting as an escalation point and supporting other ticketing professionals
n
- Strong stakeholder communication and relationship-building skills
n
- An interest in systems, process improvement and operational excellence
n
- Experience across air content distribution, automation, AI or process improvement will be highly regarded.
