About the role

D&B; is looking for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team supporting a heavy transport operation in Wyndham in WA's Kimberley. The role involves working with a fleet of 10 trucks including Kenworth, Mack and Mercedes-Benz heavy trucks, side tippers, trailers and various heavy equipment. You will be a capable, hands-on and experienced mechanic who enjoys variety, can think on their feet and is comfortable taking ownership of a workshop and leading a small team.

Key responsibilities

- Servicing, maintenance and repairs

- Diagnostics and fault finding

- Breakdown and field repairs

- Preventative maintenance

- Heavy vehicle and trailer repairs

- Working with Cummins and CAT engines

- Electrical, air and hydraulic fault finding

- Planning and prioritising workshop repairs

- Leading and supporting a small workshop team

- Keeping the fleet safe, reliable and on the road

About you

- Heavy Diesel / Heavy Vehicle Mechanical trade qualification





- Strong heavy truck and transport experience

- Good knowledge of Cummins and CAT engines

- Experience with Mercedes-Benz trucks highly regarded

- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills

- Current Australian Driver's Licence

- Heavy vehicle licence highly regarded

- Ability to work safely in hot and remote conditions

- Valuable organisational and communication skills

- Ability to lead a small team
