Full time dairy farm hand
Rural town of Smithton, TAS. Milking 900 cows, twice a day -one worker required, ongoing full-time position for the right applicant.
Position Description
- 38 hrs/week commencing at pastoral award Level 1 $25.74 per hour
- Milkings at 4am and 2pm
- Milking twice a day
- 45 bail rotary
Work commencement
October 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Milking cows efficiently and hygienically (AM and PM milkings)
- Identifying and reporting animal health issues
- Cleaning and maintaining milking equipment and the dairy shed
- Potential assistance with herd movements and general farm tasks as needed
About You
- Previous experience with dairy milking is preferred but not essential — training can be provided for the right person
- Strong work ethic and a positive level of physical fitness
- Comfortable working early mornings, weekends, and in all weather conditions
- Reliable and punctual
