Female Disability Support Worker – Psychosocial & Complex Care | Moorabbin

Pacific Home Care Solutions (PHCS) is seeking an experienced and compassionate Female Disability Support Worker to join a participant’s support team in Moorabbin, VIC.

This role would suit someone who is mature, calm, nurturing and emotionally aware, with the ability to read the room and adapt their approach depending on how the participant is feeling on the day.

The participant requires a combination of psychosocial support, personal care and physical assistance, so we are looking for someone confident working with complex support needs.

About the role

- You will provide person-centred support including:
- Psychosocial and emotional regulation support
- Personal care, including showering and dressing
- Manual handling and transfer assistance
- Wheelchair-related support
- Assistance with catheter-related care, following the participant’s care plan and training
- Community access and daily living support
- Recognising changes in presentation and responding calmly to periods of distress
- Following behaviour support, risk management and clinical support plans
- Maintaining transparent progress notes and incident documentation where required





About you We would particularly like to hear from experienced female support workers who have worked with participants with psychosocial disability, complex mental health needs and/or Functional Neurological Disorder (FND).

You will ideally be someone who is patient, non-judgemental and able to build trust, while maintaining professional boundaries. Experience supporting participants experiencing emotional dysregulation or self-harm behaviours would be highly regarded.

Experience with personal care, manual handling and catheter care is desirable; participant-specific training can be provided where appropriate.

Applicants should hold the relevant NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid/CPR, Working with Children Check where applicable, driver’s licence and appropriate work rights.
