Finance Officer

Owen Pharmacy Group is seeking a reliable and detail-focused Finance Officer to join our team on a part-time basis, with responsibility for payroll and accounts payable across the Group.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with numbers, takes pride in accuracy and is confident managing deadlines. You will play an key role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time, while keeping the day-to-day accounts payable function running smoothly.

About the role:

Based at our Head Office in Toowoomba, you will manage the payroll and accounts payable functions supporting our eight pharmacy locations. Your responsibilities will include:

Payroll

- Managing end-to-end fortnightly payroll for 200 employees

- Processing new starters, terminations, leave, allowances and employee changes

- Maintaining accurate payroll and employee records

- Processing payroll adjustments and back payments

- Managing superannuation requirements

- Responding to payroll queries from employees and managers

- Ensuring payroll is processed accurately and within required deadlines

- Maintaining the Group's payroll and time & attendance systems

Accounts Payable

- Processing supplier invoices and accounts payable transactions

- Processing supplier payments

- Reconciling supplier statements

- Responding to supplier queries

- Maintaining accurate accounts payable records





- Assisting with month-end processing and reconciliations

- Supporting the wider finance function with general administrative tasks as required

About you:

We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable and enjoys working in a role where accuracy is essential. You will ideally have:

- Previous experience in payroll and accounts payable

- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

- Good understanding of Australian payroll processes and requirements

- Experience using payroll and accounting software

- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- The ability to work independently and manage deadlines

- Excellent communication skills
- A high level of confidentiality and professionalism
- A proactive approach and willingness to identify and resolve issues
