About us The Aboriginal Art Centre Hub of Western Australia (AACHWA) advocates on behalf of its member art centres located in regional and remote Western Australia. AACHWA delivers career development programs for managers, boards, and artists; provides recruitment advice and services; and acts as an advocate to, and central point of contact for, Regional, State and Federal funding bodies.

About the role

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Finance Manager is a key position in the organisation. Due to growth in funding and in the complexity of its operations, AACHWA is looking to recruit a full-time qualified accountant to support the organisation. This role entails managing the entire finance function of the organisation according to organisational policy and reporting standards.

Key responsibilities

- Have the overall responsibility for Finance function of AACHWA
- Ensure all statutory obligations are discharged specifically, BAS, Super, Taxation and Financial audits, Statutory/Regulatory reporting
- In conjunction with General Manager, work with project teams on funder compliance and acquittals
- Prepare annual and project budgets in conjunction with Project Managers and General Manager for Finance Sub Committee approval
- Manage Banking relationships
- Manage Audit relationships
- Assist with project budgets for funding applications
- Prepare monthly accounts & variance analysis, review with Operational/Project Managers, prepare commentary & reporting
- Establish effective internal financial controls
- Ensure Financial policies & procedures are maintained current and contemporary.



Review periodically and recommend amendments for approval
- Supervise the Finance Team who have day to day responsibility for Accounts payable, Receivable, Payroll preparation and month end journals support
- Prepare all statutory and financial reporting to ATO, funding bodies, project managers, Finance Sub Committee and Board of Directors

Other Requirements:

- Valid Australian working rights
- Have a National Police Clearance no more than three months old or willingness to obtain one
- Have a Professional Membership Certification (if applicable)
