Temporary Finance Officer Needed On A 3-month Contract With Possibility of Extension/Permanency

Your new company An opportunity exists for a Finance Officer to join a well-established Financial Operations team within a large and complex organisation. Working within a collaborative finance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate processing of financial transactions, maintaining supplier and customer records, and supporting internal stakeholders with finance-related enquiries. The role suits someone who enjoys working in a structured environment, has strong attention to detail, and is willing to learn established systems and processes.

This position is initially offered as a 3-month assignment, with the potential for extension and permanency based on operational needs.

Your new role

- Process high volumes of Accounts Payable transactions, ensuring invoices are accurately coded, validated, and processed within required timeframes.

- Review, monitor, and maintain purchase orders, ensuring supporting documentation is complete and compliant with organisational policies and procedures.

- Match invoices against purchase orders and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate financial records.

- Respond to supplier and internal stakeholder enquiries regarding invoices, purchase orders, and transactional finance matters.

- Support Accounts Receivable functions, including payment allocation, account maintenance, and resolution of customer account queries.

- Assist with reconciliations and transaction reviews to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data.

- Maintain accurate supplier and customer records within the organisation's ERP system.

- Monitor outstanding transactions and follow up on aged items to support effective financial operations.

- Liaise with stakeholders across the organisation to provide guidance on finance processes and resolve transactional issues.

- Ensure all financial transactions are processed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and delegated authorities.





- Contribute to month-end activities, reporting requirements, and ad hoc finance administration tasks as required.

- Utilise TechnologyOne (or a similar ERP system) to process and maintain financial information.

- Identify opportunities for process improvements while working within established operational frameworks.

- Work collaboratively with team members to support service delivery outcomes and maintain high standards of customer service.

- Develop knowledge of organisational finance processes and actively participate in training and continuous learning opportunities.

What you'll need to succeed

- Previous experience in a Finance Officer, Accounts Payable Officer, Accounts Receivable Officer, Accounts Administrator, or similar transactional finance role.

- Demonstrated experience processing Accounts Payable transactions.

- Understanding of Accounts Receivable processes and customer account management.

- Experience working with purchase orders and invoice matching.

- Previous experience using Technology One or CI Anywhere would be highly regarded.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to quickly learn new systems, processes, and procedures.

- Positive attitude and willingness to work within established frameworks and processes.

- Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
