ActewAGL is looking for an experienced and commercially focused Financial Controller Retail to join our Retail leadership team. Reporting to the Group Manager Commercial Services Retail, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting across the Retail Partnership, while providing critical financial insights that support business performance, strategic decision-making and future growth. This role combines technical accounting expertise, commercial analysis, process improvement and people leadership.

What You'll Be Doing As Financial Controller Retail, you will:
- Lead the integrity and accuracy of Retail financial reporting in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards and accounting policies.
- Manage month-end close activities, balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger integrity.
- Deliver insightful analysis of revenue, margins and costs, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
- Prepare and manage monthly Business Performance Reporting.
- Oversee year-end audit processes and support the preparation of statutory financial reporting.
- Provide technical accounting advice on strategic initiatives, products and business decisions.
- Partner with stakeholders across Retail Finance, Planning & Analysis, Billing, Treasury and broader business teams.
- Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and automate financial processes and controls.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management activities.
- Lead, mentor and develop members of the Retail Finance team.
About You You are an experienced finance leader who combines strong technical accounting capability with commercial acumen and a proactive approach to problem solving. To Be Successful, You'll Bring
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or a related discipline.
- CA or CPA qualification (or equivalent).
- Significant experience in a senior financial or management accounting role.
- Solid knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and technical accounting principles.
- Proven experience improving financial processes while maintaining strong governance and controls.
- Advanced analytical and financial modelling skills.
- Strong Excel capability and experience with Oracle Financial Suite or similar ERP systems.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
- The ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders across a complex business environment.
