About the chance

Unison Solar Energy is expanding its finance department to support the next phase of our growth. We are recruiting a Financial Controller to lead our accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance and controls across the business. In this role you will lead the end-to-end financial close, budgeting and forecasting, audit and tax activities, treasury and financial controls, while partnering with senior leaders to drive performance and informed decision-making.

This is an chance to play a pivotal role in building scalable finance processes and systems for a fast-growing renewable energy business, while helping shape the financial foundations that will support Unison Solar Energy’s continued growth.

Responsibilities

- Own budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and financial planning to support business decisions.
- Manage core accounting operations and statutory reporting, ensuring compliance with Australian accounting, tax and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee financial compliance for grants, green tariffs, subsidies and renewable energy projects. Drive finance process, systems and control improvements to support scalable business growth.
- Partner with business leaders to provide insights, manage financial risks and improve performance.
- Lead and develop the finance team, driving accountability, accuracy and continuous improvement.
- Lead the end-to-end financial close, consolidation, reporting and performance analysis.
- What you will bring
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated financial control or accounting experience within a corporate or project environment.




- CA/CPA qualification and strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, IFRS and tax requirements.
- A proven track record delivering accurate management accounts, budgets, forecasts and statutory reporting.
- Experience leading audits, compliance activities and financial reporting across multiple entities or projects.
- Strong systems capability, including experience with SAP, MYOB and ERP platforms.
- A collaborative mindset, high personal integrity and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
