Your new role This is an opportunity to join Uniting as Financial Controller and lead the organisation's financial accounting function. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you'll provide strategic leadership across financial reporting, statutory compliance, treasury, controls and finance systems while ensuring financial integrity across a large and complex organisation. You'll lead a capable team, strengthen financial governance and play a key role in supporting organisational sustainability through robust reporting, risk management and continuous improvement initiatives.
Your Impact Will Include
- Leading statutory reporting, taxation compliance and annual financial statements.
- Ensuring strong financial controls, governance and audit outcomes.
- Providing accurate and timely financial reporting to Executive and Board stakeholders.
- Driving finance systems optimisation, automation and process improvement initiatives.
- Supporting long-term financial sustainability through effective cash flow, treasury and balance sheet management.
- Building and developing a high-performing finance team through coaching and leadership.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity based at our Melbourne CBD office with a flexible hybrid working arrangement.

Your Skills And Experience You're an experienced finance leader with deep technical expertise and a passion for building high-performing teams while driving continuous improvement. You Will Bring With You
- CPA, CA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Extensive experience in senior financial accounting leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, statutory reporting and compliance.
- Demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining robust financial controls.
- Proven ability to lead teams and drive finance process and systems improvements.
