About the role

This is a hands-on position combining forklift operation, loading and unloading (timber, sheet products & builders hardware), order preparation and general yard duties. You'll also assist customers collecting orders, so being helpful, approachable and able to communicate clearly is important.

Key responsibilities

- Operating a forklift safely and confidently within the yard & warehouse
- Loading and unloading suppliers/delivery trucks (non-covered area)
- Loading products into customer vehicles
- Picking, packing and preparing customer orders
- Checking products and quantities before orders leave the yard
- Receiving and putting away incoming stock
- Keeping the yard clean, organised and safe
- Assisting customers to locate and collect their products
- Completing general yard and manual handling duties
- Communicating with the team about orders, deliveries and priorities

About you





- A current Australian LF forklift licence
- Previous forklift operating experience (Combi lift highly regarded)
- Experience loading and unloading trucks or customer vehicles
- A solid commitment to safe working practices
- Good attention to detail
- A reliable and consistent work ethic
- The ability to work well within a team
- The initiative to see what needs doing and get on with it
- Clear and respectful communication skills
- The ability to safely complete the manual handling requirements of a yard-based position
