Mexicali Bar Y Taqueria in Nobby Beach is growing our Front of House team and we are currently recruiting for three positions:

- Bar Supervisor

- Lead Server

- Bartender

The Roles

Bar Supervisor

We're looking for an experienced hospitality professional who can confidently help lead our Nobby Beach bar team and maintain a consistently high standard during service.

You'll be someone who leads by example, remains calm during busy services and genuinely enjoys developing other team members.

The role will include

- Leading the bar team during service

- Maintaining high standards of cocktails, drinks presentation and guest experience

- Supporting, training and developing bartenders

- Strong working knowledge of tequila, mezcal, cocktails, wine and beer

- Helping maintain efficient bar systems, preparation and organisation

- Monitoring stock, wastage and product standards

- Working closely with venue management, the floor team and kitchen

- Identifying opportunities to continually improve our bar offering and service

- Setting the standard for professionalism, hospitality and teamwork

Previous supervisory or senior bartending experience in a high-volume restaurant or bar workplace will be highly regarded.

Lead Server





We're looking for an experienced restaurant professional who understands that great service is about much more than simply taking an order.

You'll be confident running a busy section, communicating with guests, supporting other team members and helping drive the standard of service across the floor.

The role will include

- Delivering friendly, attentive and knowledgeable table service

- Confidently managing a busy section

- Building genuine rapport with guests

- Developing strong knowledge of our food, cocktails, wine, beer and spirits

- Supporting and guiding other FOH team members during service

- Communicating effectively with the kitchen, bar and management team

- Handling guest requests and issues confidently and professionally

- Helping maintain consistently high service standards throughout the venue

- Leading by example during busy services

We're ideally looking for someone with solid restaurant experience who is ready to take on greater responsibility and become one of the leaders on our floor.

Bartender

We're looking for skilled bartenders who genuinely enjoy the craft of bartending and creating a great experience across the bar.

You'll be confident working in a fast-paced environment and take pride in the quality, consistency and presentation of every drink you make.

The role will include

- Preparing cocktails quickly and consistently to a high standard

- Engaging with guests and providing knowledgeable, friendly service

- Developing strong knowledge across tequila, mezcal, cocktails, wine and beer

- Maintaining excellent bar preparation, presentation and cleanliness

- Working efficiently during high-volume services

- Following Mexicali recipes, systems and service standards

- Contributing ideas and creativity to our drinks offering

- Working closely with the wider FOH and management team

Existing knowledge of tequila and mezcal is a major advantage, although extensive training in our products, recipes and service model will be provided.

- Maintain high standards even during busy services

- Have a current RSA appropriate for working in a licensed Queensland venue

- Are available to work the nights and weekends required in a hospitality environment

For our Lead Server and Bartender positions, approximately two years' relevant hospitality experience is preferred.

For our Bar Supervisor position, we're particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate previous leadership or senior-level bar experience.
