About the role

Kooringal Child Care Centre is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Full-time Trainee Early Childhood Educator. This is an exciting opportunity to begin your career in early childhood education whilst completing your formal qualification. Based in Wagga Wagga NSW, this full-time traineeship will provide you with hands-on experience in a supportive and nurturing environment where you can develop the skills and knowledge essential to working with young children.

What you'll be doing

- Supporting qualified educators in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities and educational programs for children
- Assisting with the daily care routines including feeding, toileting, and nappy changes for younger children
- Supervising children during play, rest time, and outdoor activities in a safe and supportive manner
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment throughout the centre




- Building positive relationships with children and their families through daily communication and engagement
- Observing and documenting children's development and learning progress to support educators
- Assisting with the preparation of resources, materials, and environments for learning activities
- Completing your formal early childhood education qualification whilst gaining practical experience
- Supporting the implementation of centre policies and procedures, including health and safety requirements
- Collaborating with the broader team to contribute to a positive and inclusive centre culture

What we're looking for

- Currently enrolled in or committed to commencing an accredited Early Childhood Education qualification (Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent)
- A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development and learning
- Solid communication skills and the ability to interact positively with children, families, and team members
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of health, safety, and hygiene in a childcare setting
- Physical fitness and the ability to engage in active play and care duties with children
- Reliability, punctuality, and a professional approach to work




- Willingness to learn and develop new skills within a supportive team environment
- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one as a condition of employment)
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within the first month of employment)
- A clear understanding of and commitment to child safeguarding and protection principles
