Personal Services Australia is seeking a qualified and experienced Embalmer to join our mortuary team at Smeaton Grange. We are seeking a qualified embalmer, however we may also consider a student who is nearing completion of their qualification and is currently completing case studies/practical requirements.

While embalming will be the primary focus of this position, our mortuary operates as a team and workloads are shared. The successful applicant must be willing and comfortable undertaking basic preparations and other mortuary duties when required.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

- Performing embalming procedures to a high professional standard
- Preparing deceased persons for viewing and funeral services
- Preparing post-mortem and more complex cases
- Restorative work where required
- Dressing, cosmetising and final presentation
- Completing basic preparations
- Maintaining accurate mortuary documentation
- Maintaining high standards of infection control, hygiene and WHS
- Working collaboratively with the wider mortuary team




- Treating all deceased persons with dignity, care and respect

Qualifications, Licences and Skills

Essential

- Recognised embalming qualification – AIE and/or BIE accredited, or nearing completion
- Current NSW Full Driver Licence
- Practical embalming and deceased preparation experience
- Strong attention to detail and presentation
- Knowledge of infection control and safe mortuary practices
- Professional, respectful and discreet manner
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to perform basic preparations and general mortuary duties as required
