About the role

Yeronga Child Development Centre is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Casual Assistant Educators to join our team on a casual basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic early childhood education and care setting, supporting the development and wellbeing of children in our centre. Based in Yeronga, QLD 4104, this casual position offers flexibility and the chance to make a meaningful difference in children's lives whilst contributing to our centre's mission of providing high-quality childcare and educational programmes.

What you'll be doing

- Supporting qualified educators in the planning, implementation and evaluation of educational activities and programmes for children
- Assisting with the supervision and duty of care for children throughout the day, including during outdoor and indoor play activities
- Supporting children's learning and development through play-based activities, social interaction and positive engagement
- Helping to maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment for children, including assisting with routine tasks such as meal preparation support, toileting and personal hygiene
- Building positive relationships with children and families, communicating respectfully and professionally with parents and caregivers
- Assisting with the implementation of centre policies and procedures, including health and safety protocols
- Supporting children with additional needs and contributing to inclusive practice within the centre
- Participating in team meetings and professional development opportunities as required

What we're looking for

- A genuine passion for working with children and a commitment to their safety, wellbeing and development
- Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one prior to commencing
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain within a reasonable timeframe
- A relevant qualification in early childhood education or childcare (such as Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent),



or demonstrated experience working in childcare settings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Knowledge of child development and understanding of play-based learning approaches
- Ability to follow instructions and work under the direction of qualified educators
- Flexibility and reliability, with the ability to adapt to a casual working arrangement
- A commitment to maintaining professional standards and confidentiality
