About the role

We are looking for an experienced technology leader to lead our Information Technology function and help shape how technology supports the College now and into the future. Reporting to the Chief Operations and Partnerships Officer and as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will lead the development and delivery of our technology strategy and roadmap.

You will work closely with the Executive Leadership Team, Board and business leaders to make sure technology investment is focused on the priorities that matter and delivers clear value for our members, staff and the organisation. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can turn strategy into delivery. You will set clear priorities, oversee a complex technology portfolio, manage budgets and strategic technology partners, and make sure technology services are reliable, secure and cost-effective.

You will also

- Lead the development and execution of a clear, prioritised technology roadmap.
- Oversee technology operations, architecture, data and analytics, governance and service delivery.
- Work with business leaders to understand needs, prioritise investment and measure the benefits of technology initiatives.
- Lead relationships with key technology partners and vendors, including commercial negotiations and performance management.
- Ensure technology risks, security, privacy and compliance are appropriately considered in decision-making.
- Build the capability and performance of the IT team, with four direct reports.
- Provide trusted advice to the Executive Leadership Team and Board on technology opportunities, risks, investment and priorities.
- Manage the technology budget and ensure investment decisions deliver value for money.

The role will suit someone who enjoys being close to the work, making decisions and seeing things through. The role is full time on a 3-year maximum term contract.

About the team





Our IT team enables the College's strategic and operational objectives through technology services, data and analytics, architecture, vendor management and digital delivery. The team works closely with leaders and teams across the College, as well as specialist external technology partners, to make sure technology is practical, reliable and aligned with organisational needs.

You will lead a team of four direct reports across IT business enablement, data analytics and governance, infrastructure and operations, and solution architecture. We are focused on building strong relationships between technology and the rest of the organisation, improving how we prioritise and deliver technology initiatives, and making sure our investment delivers meaningful outcomes.

About you

You are an experienced technology leader who combines strong strategic thinking with the ability to get things done.

You will bring

- Significant experience leading enterprise technology functions in complex organisations.
- A strong track record of delivering technology portfolios, transformation initiatives and operational technology services from planning through to execution.
- Experience aligning technology investment with business priorities and measurable organisational outcomes.
- Strong commercial skills, including vendor management, procurement, contract negotiation and investment evaluation.
- The ability to develop clear priorities and roadmaps, and deliver within available resources, funding and organisational capacity.
- Experience building high-performing teams and developing strong relationships between technology and business functions.
- A good understanding of technology governance, enterprise applications, architecture and service management.
- The confidence to communicate complex technology issues in clear, practical business terms.
- Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, with experience working with executives, Boards and external partners.
- A practical approach to leadership, with a focus on accountability, value and continuous improvement.
