About the role

As a Consulting GIS Administrator, you'll keep our clients' ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online environments resilient, recoverable and performing well: software and configuration updates, troubleshooting, and scripting the routine administrative tasks that keep systems running smoothly. This is genuinely client-facing work, you'll represent Onneer directly with client stakeholders and communicate system changes clearly, so being comfortable working in a consulting environment matters as much as the technical skill. In a small, focused team, there's room to turn your hand to related GIS work when it's needed too.

The level

This is a Consultant-level role. You'll work within a structured workplace, guided by senior mentors as you deepen your understanding of system design and integration.



You'll apply established troubleshooting and change-management methods under routine direction, taking on system documentation and scripting with growing independence as your confidence builds.

What you'll bring A sound understanding of GIS concepts and cloud infrastructure, an aptitude for scripting and automation, and the attention to detail that comes with looking after production systems. Clear communication matters, since you'll regularly explain technical issues to clients directly. A relevant degree or several years' equivalent experience is valued, and certification in ArcGIS Enterprise Administration is an advantage, or something you're working towards.

Where you'll work

This role is based onsite in Canberra, with hybrid arrangements supported where client work allows. We'll consider remote applicants on merit, though being local gives you more day-to-day exposure to the team and client sites, which tends to support faster growth in a Consultant-level role like this one.
