Join the Clinical Coding team at Pindara Private Hospital as a Full-Time Graduate Clinical Coder and commence your career in clinical coding within a supportive and collaborative healthcare environment.

Working alongside experienced Clinical Coders and reporting to the Coding Manager, you will develop your practical clinical coding skills while undertaking accurate and timely coding of patient records.

This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified Clinical Coder to apply the knowledge gained through your Diploma of Clinical Coding while continuing to build your skills and experience in a hospital environment. Professional development and ongoing learning are supported and encouraged.

About You You are a motivated and detail-oriented graduate who is looking to establish a career in clinical coding.

You have a strong interest in health information and clinical coding, with the ability to interpret clinical documentation and apply your knowledge accurately. You are keen to learn, receptive to feedback and enjoy working as part of a supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

- Undertake accurate and timely clinical coding of patient records under appropriate guidance and supervision.
- Review clinical documentation and assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes.




- Apply Australian Coding Standards and relevant clinical coding guidelines.
- Develop your knowledge and understanding of Australian Refined Diagnosis Related Groups (AR-DRG).
- Assist with ensuring clinical coding is accurate, complete and compliant with relevant requirements.
- Identify documentation or coding queries and seek clarification where required.
- Maintain accurate clinical coding and health information records.
- Support the collection and integrity of clinical data.
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy when handling patient and clinical information.
- Work collaboratively with the Coding Manager and Clinical Coding team.
- Participate in training, education and professional development activities.
- Keep up to date with changes to coding standards and clinical coding practices.
- Contribute to quality improvement and continuous improvement activities within the department.
- Undertake other duties as directed by the Coding Manager.

You Will Also Bring

- Diploma of Clinical Coding or equivalent recognised clinical coding qualification.
- Newly qualified Clinical Coder looking to commence or develop your career in clinical coding.
- Knowledge of Australian Coding Standards and clinical coding principles.
- An understanding of AR-DRG classification is desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret and understand clinical documentation.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and develop clinical coding knowledge and skills.
- Ability to receive and apply feedback and guidance.

Additional Information
