Graduate Mechanical Engineer | AI Infrastructure | Sydney

Location: Sydney

Employment Type: Full-time

Experience: Graduate / Entry Level The Opportunity Join a rapidly growing engineering team in the AI infrastructure space and build a broad foundation across product development, engineering and project delivery.

This is an ideal first role for a recent Mechanical Engineering graduate. Rather than being locked into one specialised area from day one, you will gain real exposure across the business and work alongside experienced engineers.

You’ll start by supporting the Product Manager on product development, engineering administration, technical documentation and spreadsheet-based analysis. From there you’ll progressively take on engineering calculations, HVAC/mechanical tasks and project-related work as your skills and the business needs develop.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Supporting product development activities across the AI infrastructure division
- Assisting with engineering administration, coordination and data analysis
- Preparing and maintaining engineering spreadsheets and technical documentation
- Working with experienced engineers on calculations and technical tasks (including fan and pump calculations)
- Gaining hands-on exposure to HVAC/mechanical engineering and project delivery
- Collaborating with engineering, supply chain, manufacturing and project teams
- Building a practical understanding of how design, procurement, manufacturing and project delivery fit together
- Taking on increasing responsibility as your technical knowledge grows

Development is driven by real workload and business needs — not a rigid rotation — so you’ll see how different parts of the organisation connect. About You We’re open to both fresh graduates and candidates with a little relevant experience. What matters most is:
- A Mechanical Engineering degree
- Genuine enthusiasm for engineering and infrastructure
- Strong desire to learn and develop
- Curiosity and the confidence to ask questions
- A proactive, practical, hands-on attitude (“muck in and have a go”)
- Valuable communication skills and the ability to work well in a team

Previous HVAC, building services or data-centre experience is a bonus but not essential. Motivation, learning agility and willingness to contribute are more important than prior experience. Why This Role?

You’ll work on major AI infrastructure projects in a high-growth part of the industry. You’ll receive mentoring from experienced engineers and gain exposure to the full engineering and project lifecycle — product development, design, manufacturing, supply chain and delivery.

This is a genuine platform to explore where your strengths and interests lie, whether that leads toward design engineering, project engineering, product development or project management.

What You’ll Gain

- Exposure to significant AI infrastructure projects
- Mentoring from senior engineers
- Practical engineering experience (including HVAC/mechanical systems)
- Product development and project delivery experience
- Understanding of manufacturing and supply chain
- Development of commercial and project-management skills
- A strong foundation for a long-term engineering career
