Graduate Sales Engineer - Technical Sales

Immediate Start | Temp-to-Perm | Monday to Friday

We are seeking a Graduate Sales Engineer with a Mechanical Engineering background to join a leading manufacturer specialising in steel laser cutting and fabrication.

This is an excellent opportunity for a degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer with 1-2 years of post-graduate experience who is looking to build their career in technical sales, customer service and manufacturing.

You will play a key role in managing customer enquiries, preparing accurate quotations from engineering drawings, following up opportunities and ensuring confirmed jobs are efficiently progressed into production.

The Role

Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, your responsibilities will include:

- Responding to customer enquiries with fast turnaround times

- Reviewing workshop and engineering drawings to understand job requirements

- Preparing and issuing accurate quotations based on drawings and specifications provided

- Following up quotations with customers via phone and email

- Building strong relationships with customers and providing excellent service

- Following up approved quotes and obtaining Purchase Order (PO) numbers

- Entering confirmed jobs into the production queue

- Communicating with customers and internal production teams to ensure jobs move through the process efficiently

- Managing multiple enquiries and quotations while meeting customer deadlines

- Understanding the importance of speed and accuracy when quoting, ensuring work is returned to the customer promptly for approval

About You

We are looking for someone who is technically minded,



commercially focused and customer-oriented.

You will ideally have

- A Mechanical Engineering degree

- 1-2 years post-graduate experience in an engineering, manufacturing or technical environment

- Strong ability to read and interpret workshop/engineering drawings

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced workplace
- A self-driven and proactive approach

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A friendly, confident and professional manner
- A strong customer focus and desire to deliver great service
- The ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines
- An understanding of the importance of quick quotation turnaround times
- The confidence to pick up the phone, follow up customers and convert quotes into orders

Experience within steel fabrication, laser cutting, manufacturing or technical sales would be highly regarded, but is not essential for the right candidate.
