The Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority (GB CMA) is seeking a passionate and motivated River Health Project Graduate to join our River and Wetland Health team. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in river and waterway health project delivery while working alongside experienced professionals delivering environmental outcomes across the Goulburn Broken catchment.

Full Time (1.0 FTE) | 12-18 Month Fixed Term

About the Role

As a River Health Project Graduate, you will support the planning, delivery, monitoring and reporting of waterway health, environmental water and wetland programs while developing practical skills and experience across a broad range of natural resource management activities. Working within a supportive and collaborative team, you will contribute to:

- Waterway and river health project delivery.
- Field monitoring and data collection.
- Environmental reporting and data management.
- Environmental program planning and delivery support.

You will be supported through mentoring, career development and on-the-job learning designed to build your technical capability, project management skills and understanding of the natural resource management sector.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A completed tertiary qualification, or be eligible to graduate prior to commencement, in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Ecology, Water Management or a related discipline.
- A genuine interest in river health, waterways, environmental management and regional natural resource management.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- A willingness to undertake fieldwork and travel throughout the catchment.
- A current Victorian Driver Licence, or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement.

Exposure through study, placements, volunteering or employment in areas such as ecological monitoring, GIS, project support or community engagement will be highly regarded.

Future Opportunities

This position is being offered as a 12-18 month fixed-term opportunity supporting the delivery of the Waterway Investment Program and maintaining project delivery during a period of workforce transition. However, GB CMA manages a diverse portfolio of government-funded environmental programs and is committed to developing future environmental professionals.

Graduates who demonstrate strong performance may have opportunities to contribute to other funded projects and programs across the organisation.

Subject to ongoing program funding and organisational needs, further fixed-term employment opportunities may become available.
