About the role An exciting opportunity has become available for chefs to join our growing team at Hotel Wangi. We are a well-established, family-run venue with a proud 30-year history of delivering great food and service to the Lake Macquarie community.

Head Chef Key responsibilities

- Overseeing all kitchen operations and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Leading and motivating a small team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
- Ensuring full compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
- Managing ordering, stock control, and supplier relationships
- Creating and managing chef rosters
- You will have the ability to make changes to the menu and make it your own

About you

- At least 2 years of proven experience in a head chef or senior leadership role within a busy kitchen
- A hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and leads by example
- Strong knowledge of kitchen systems, food safety standards, and stock control
- A passion for great food, excellent service, and creating a positive team culture





Qualified Chef Key responsibilities

- Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to a consistently high standard.
- Confidently running kitchen service independently, taking responsibility for the smooth and effective operation of the kitchen during service.
- Working efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Food preparation & stock control.

- Developing chefs specials

About you

- Qualified Chef with relevant industry experience.
- Confident and capable of running a kitchen service independently.
- Ability to maintain high standards while working under pressure.
- Creative and passionate about food, with an interest in developing chefs specials.
