Villanova College is seeking an experienced and pastoral educator to take on the role of Head of House, joining our Middle Leadership team from the start of the 2027 school year.

About the Role The Head of House is a key pastoral leader within the College, responsible for the holistic development, wellbeing, and formation of students across Years 7-12 within their House. Working under the direction of the Head of School and in close collaboration with the Director of Student Wellbeing and Pastoral Programming, the Head of House builds and sustains a culture where every student is known, supported, and inspired to grow.

This is a four-year, fixed-term appointment at the Tier 3 middle leadership level, in accordance with the Catholic Employers Single Enterprise Agreement (Religious Institute Schools of Queensland) 2023–2026.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the pastoral care, discipline, and character formation of students within the House across all year levels
- Coordinate and deliver pastoral programs including House retreats, camps, excursions, form meetings, and community events
- Monitor student wellbeing, attendance, and academic progress through TASS and other data systems, identifying trends and initiating appropriate interventions
- Build meaningful partnerships with parents, College counsellors, and key specialist staff including the Head of Inclusive Education and Heads of School
- Contribute to the Middle Leadership team through attendance at Pastoral and Leadership meetings, goal-setting processes, and whole-school initiatives




- Promote and model the Augustinian values, supporting the spiritual and moral development of students and staff
- Lead and support student leaders within the House, fostering a culture of service, responsibility, and belonging

About You The successful applicant will:

- Hold appropriate tertiary qualifications in education and current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration
- Bring demonstrated experience in a pastoral or wellbeing leadership role, with strong understanding of the developmental needs of boys in Years 7-12
- Show working knowledge of Positive Psychology, Restorative Practices, and the PERMA Framework
- Be a visible, relational leader with the ability to connect with students, staff, and families across a diverse school community
- Bring commitment to the Catholic faith and the Augustinian tradition, supporting the mission and ethos of the College
- Demonstrate currency of professional development within the past five years
