The opportunity Join QBE’s Corporate Affairs and Sustainability function as Head of Public Policy and Industry Affairs. In this influential role, you will lead QBE’s engagement with public policy and industry stakeholders, helping strengthen our contribution to policy and regulatory reform that affects our business and customers.

Your current role
- Develop and deliver advocacy strategies that strengthen QBE’s contribution to relevant policy and regulatory reform.
- Build trusted relationships with public policy stakeholders including; government, , academic, research, think tank and industry stakeholders.
- Provide commercial insights, research and advice on public policy and regulatory developments affecting QBE and our customers.
- Partner with stakeholders across QBE Group to develop coordinated public policy positions and advocacy initiatives.
- Prepare high-quality position papers, submissions, briefing materials, green papers and white papers.
- Lead proactive and reactive industry engagement.
About You You are an experienced public policy professional who combines strategic thinking with strong stakeholder engagement and written communication capabilities. You can navigate complex policy environments, translate commercial considerations into clear and credible advocacy positions, and bring people together across a large organisation to deliver coordinated outcomes. You will be comfortable operating proactively while also responding effectively to emerging political, regulatory and industry developments.
You will also
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing public policy advocacy strategies.
- Strong understanding of public policy processes and how organisations can contribute to improved regulatory outcomes.
- Proven ability to establish effective relationships .
- Experience coordinating public policy projects across a large organisation.
- Strong drafting capability across policy papers, submissions and briefing materials.
- A tertiary qualification, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience, in law, economics, political science or another relevant discipline.
