Redlands is seeking an experienced and highly organised sport leader to join our Secondary School Sport team as Head of Secondary School Sport for Term 1, 2027. This maximum term contract is for Term 1 2027 only, and will provide leadership across our extensive Years 7 to 12 sport program , supporting participation, performance and the continued development of a positive sporting culture.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Secondary School, the Head of Secondary School Sport will lead the delivery of effective and engaging sporting programs across Years 7 to 12. Working closely with Sports Administrators, Directors of Coaching, coaches, staff and families, this role will oversee day-to-day sport operations while supporting a cohesive and developmental approach to Secondary School Sport.
- Lead, coordinate and support the delivery of the Secondary School Sport program.
- Manage key sporting events, carnivals, competitions and representative sport pathways.
- Provide leadership and guidance to coaches, Sports Administrators and sport support staff.
- Support effective communication with students, staff, parents, officials and external sporting bodies.
- Contribute to risk management, WHS practices and the smooth operation of sport across the Secondary School.
About You You will be a confident and collaborative sport leader who is passionate about the role of sport in supporting student growth, wellbeing and connection. You will bring strong organisational capability, sound judgement and the interpersonal skills needed to build positive relationships across a busy school environment.
- Experience leading or coordinating school sport, ideally within an independent school environment.
- A robust commitment to student participation, development and sporting excellence.
- Excellent organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Highly developed communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience leading staff, coaches or volunteers, with a focus on clarity, support and continuous improvement.
- NESA registration is desirable.
