About the role The HR Officer plays a critical role in delivering productive, compliant and people-centric Human Resources and Payroll services across the organization. The position is responsible for supporting key employee lifecycle activities including recruitment, onboarding, payroll administration, learning and development, employee record management and HR project delivery. Working closely with leaders and employees, the HR Officer provides operational HR expertise, ensures adherence to legislative and organizational requirements, and contributes to the continuous improvement of people processes that support business performance and employee engagement.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate the fortnightly payroll cycle, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality and compliance with all relevant legislative and organizational requirements
- Manage payroll-related queries and provide timely support and guidance to employees and managers
- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activities, including advertising vacancies, candidate screening, interview scheduling and hiring administration
- Manage onboarding and induction processes to ensure a seamless employee experience
- Provide first-line HR support and advice to managers and employees on policies, procedures and employment-related matters
- Lead and coordinate employee relations investigations, grievance processes,
conflict resolution activities and associated documentation
- Administrate and maintain the Learning Management System (LMS)
- Contribute to organizational HR initiatives and strategic people projects
- Maintain HR systems, organizational charts and employee data repositories
- Prepare HR reports, metrics and workforce information to support informed decision-making
About you
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Commerce or a related discipline
- 3-5 years' experience in Human Resources, Payroll or related people operations functions
- Demonstrated experience coordinating payroll administration within a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of employment legislation and workplace compliance obligations
- Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding and employee lifecycle processes
- Well-developed communication, organizational and stakeholder management skills
- Sound understanding of Human Resources principles and practices
- Working knowledge of Australian employment legislation, Fair Work requirements and payroll compliance obligations
- Experience with HRIS, Payroll Systems and Learning Management Systems
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
