About the role

Urban Steel is seeking an experienced HR Truck Driver to join our operations team in Morisset, NSW. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our supply chain and logistics operations within the construction sector. As an HR Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting materials, equipment, and goods whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service.

This role is essential to ensuring our operations run smoothly and our clients receive their deliveries on time.

Key responsibilities

- Operate and maintain heavy rigid (HR) vehicle in compliance with all relevant road and safety regulations

- Transport construction materials, and associated equipment to designated job sites and customers

- Conduct pre-journey and post-journey vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues or damage

- Plan and optimise delivery routes to ensure timely and efficient service delivery

- Load, unload, and secure cargo appropriately using secure handling procedures

- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption and vehicle maintenance

- Communicate professionally with clients, site supervisors and dispatch teams throughout delivery operations

- Comply with all workplace health and safety requirements and company policies

- Assist with yard duties and vehicle cleanliness when not actively driving

What we're looking for

- Immediate Start.

- Valid Heavy Rigid (HR) driver's licence with a clean driving record.

- White Card or Equivalent.

- Hight Risk Work Licence with either - C, DG, RB, LF, EWP (or willing to obtain).

- Proven experience as an HR truck driver,



preferably in the construction or plant machinery transport sector

- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations, load restraint standards and fatigue management laws

- Excellent mechanical knowledge and ability to conduct vehicle inspections and perform routine maintenance

- Physical fitness to safely load and unload heavy items

- Strong communication and customer service skills

- Reliability, punctuality and a qualified attitude towards work

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Desirable: Experience with forklift operation or other material handling equipment

- Desirable: Previous experience in the construction or steel industry
