Corporate Services
Our Corporate Services department plays a crucial role in the smooth running of our organisation and to help the co-operative and workforce to operate more efficiently, effectively, culturally safe, to ensure compliance with regulations and standards that govern our organisation. The Corporate Services team consists of roles filled and under recruitment:

- Aboriginal Cultural Support

- Facilities, Assets and Maintenance

- OH&S; and Quality

Role Summary The HR and Risk Manager will be the organisations trusted advisor across Safety, Risk, Human Resources and Recruitment and is responsible for coordinating the workplace relations functions and supporting GAC in creating a protected, engaged and supported workplace where our people can thrive. This is a hands-on management role that sits within the Corporate Services portfolio and plays a critical part in GAC's organisational reset and transformation. The HR and Risk Manager will build and embed fit-for-purpose HR and Risk systems, policies and processes that support a workforce of approximately 110 staff.
This role is also responsible for driving a positive, culturally safe people and culture, risk adverse and compliant environment.
This role is suited to someone who enjoys partnering with leaders, building strong relationships and providing practical leadership and governance advice, with strong technical knowledge on HR and OH&S.;
Rather than driving every people-related decision, the role will equip managers with the knowledge, confidence and support to lead their teams effectively while ensuring compliance with employment and safety legislation, standards and company policies.

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, OH&S;/WHS, Leadership, Business or related field.
- Demonstrated experience in HR coordination, risk management or leadership role in a relevant field.
- Sound knowledge of Fair Work Act, NES and relevant employment Awards.
- Sound knowledge of the OH&S; Act, Regulations and Standards for Victoria.
- Experience with HR systems and maintaining accurate employee records.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills – written and verbal.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work with confidential information.
- Commitment to Aboriginal self-determination and culturally safe practice.
Desirable
- Experience in an ACCO, health or community services organisation.
- Knowledge of SCHADS and other related Awards.
- Experience with Employment Hero or similar HRIS.
- Experience working with First Nations People, providing culturally safe advice and encouragement.
- Ability to work collaboratively and support a diverse team.
