QIX Consulting is partnering with a leading global organisation to appoint an experienced Human Resources Consultant to join its Sydney People & Culture team.

This is a hands-on HR role for someone who enjoys getting involved in the day-to-day people matters that arise within a large, diverse and operational business.

You'll work closely with managers and employees to investigate workplace concerns, understand what's actually happened, interpret policy and legislation, provide practical advice and help resolve individual cases through to an appropriate outcome .

It's a great opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys problem-solving, working with people and being close to the operation.

About the Role

As a Human Resources Business Partner, you'll provide practical HR advice and support to managers and employees across a diverse workforce.

No two days will necessarily look the same. You'll work across individual employee matters, workplace concerns, performance and conduct issues, policy interpretation and broader HR queries, partnering with stakeholders to understand the situation and determine the best way forward.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing individual HR cases and workplace matters from initial enquiry through to resolution
- Investigating workplace concerns, complaints and incidents to establish the facts and determine appropriate next steps
- Providing practical advice to managers on performance, conduct, attendance and behavioural matters
- Interpreting HR policies, procedures, Modern Awards and relevant employment legislation
- Coaching managers through difficult conversations and employee matters
- Working with employees,

managers and other stakeholders to resolve workplace issues fairly and effectively
- Ensuring appropriate documentation, process and procedural fairness throughout individual matters
- Identifying underlying issues and recommending practical, commercially appropriate solutions
- Supporting organisational change and other people initiatives as required
- Working collaboratively with the broader People & Culture team and specialist HR functions
- Building trusted relationships with operational leaders and becoming a go-to source of practical HR advice

We're looking for someone who is practical, approachable and confident dealing with people issues in a busy operational environment .

You will ideally have

- Experience as a Human Resources Consultant, HR Advisor, Senior HR Advisor, HR Generalist or similar
- Experience supporting a large, operational, frontline, field-based or trades workforce
- Strong investigation and fact-finding skills
- The ability to work through situations where there may be conflicting information or different versions of events
- Sound knowledge of Australian employment legislation, Contemporary Awards and HR best practice
- Experience advising managers on performance, conduct and workplace matters
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Confidence having difficult or sensitive conversations

- The ability to manage multiple cases and competing priorities
- A pragmatic approach with sound judgement and the ability to find workable solutions
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline

You don't need to be an Employee Relations specialist . We're looking for someone with solid HR foundations who understands legislation and process but, importantly, can investigate, ask the right questions, work effectively with different stakeholders and resolve issues in a practical way . Experience within facilities management, construction, engineering, utilities, logistics, transport, manufacturing, trades or another operational environment would be highly regarded.

What's On Offer?

- $110K–$130K + super - negotiable
- Hybrid working and flexibility
- Join a large, established global organisation
- Diverse and hands-on HR portfolio
- Exposure to a large operational workforce
- Team-oriented and experienced People & Culture team
- Opportunity to build broader HR capability within a complex business environment

If you're an HR professional who enjoys being hands-on, solving problems and working directly with managers and employees , we'd love to hear from you. Apply now for a confidential discussion or call Brooke on 0424 296 722
