You will work closely with the HR Manager and broader business, providing practical HR support across employee relations, performance management, grievances, workers compensation, recruitment, on boarding, compliance and HR operations.
It is a great opportunity for an experienced HR Coordinator, HR Officer or developing HR Advisor who enjoys being hands-on and wants broad exposure within a fast-paced operational environment.
What you'll be doing
Your responsibilities will include
- Providing first-line HR advice and support to managers and employees
- Managing and supporting employee grievances, workplace complaints and employee relations matters
- Supporting workplace investigations, including preparing correspondence, meeting documentation and maintaining accurate case records
- Supporting managers with performance management, probation reviews, PIPs, disciplinary processes and attendance matters
- Coordinating workers compensation claims , including insurer liaison, documentation, case follow-up and return-to-work activities
- Supporting injury management and return-to-work processes
- Preparing employment contracts, variation letters and other HR documentation
- Coordinating onboarding, offboarding and employee lifecycle processes
- Maintaining accurate employee records and HR systems
- Supporting recruitment activities where required
- Coordinating training and compliance activities
- Preparing regular HR reports and maintaining HR data
- Assisting with HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensuring HR practices are consistent with company policies and relevant employment legislation
About you To be successful, you'll ideally bring:
- Around 5 years' practical HR experience , gained in an HR Coordinator, HR Officer, HR Advisor or similar generalist role
- Demonstrated experience handling employee grievances and employee relations matters
- Practical experience with workers compensation and return-to-work matters
- Experience supporting performance management, disciplinary and probation processes
- Sound working knowledge of the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards and Modern Awards
- Strong written communication skills and confidence preparing professional HR correspondence
- Solid organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Confidence dealing with sensitive and confidential employee matters
- A practical, solutions-focused approach and willingness to work closely with operational managers
- Strong Microsoft Office and HR systems capability
A qualification in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline is preferred.
What we're looking for
This role will suit someone who has progressed beyond transactional HR administration and is ready to take greater ownership of HR matters.
You don't need to know everything, but you should be comfortable working through an employee issue, asking the right questions, documenting the matter appropriately and providing managers with practical HR support , while knowing when a matter needs to be escalated.
Why join us?
You'll join an established Australian business and work across a diverse workforce, giving you exposure to a broad range of HR matters.
You'll have the prospect to develop your employee relations capability while working closely with experienced HR professionals and operational leaders.
