This role involves handling employee relations, industrial relations, investigations, injury management, and assisting in strategic HR initiatives such as recruitment and retention strategies, workforce planning, and remuneration reviews.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with the development and implementation of recruitment and retention strategies.
- Conduct employee relations and industrial relations investigations, providing guidance and support to employees and managers.
- Manage injury management and return-to-work programs.
- Coordinate and support employee value initiatives and performance management processes.
- Assist with remuneration reviews and compliance with HR policies and procedures.
- Support higher-end HR strategies, including workforce planning and HR compliance.
- Support with interviews and participate in the selection process for current hires where required.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.
- Promote cultural safety by ensuring HR practices are inclusive and respectful of cultural diversity.
About you
- Certificate or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field or willing to obtain (essential).
- Proven experience in an HR role, preferably with a focus on employee relations and strategic HR initiatives.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with employees and management.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Understanding and respect for cultural diversity, ensuring culturally responsive HR practices.
- Ability to work flexible hours if required.
