About the role An ICT Business Analyst identifies business needs and translates them into technical solutions, documenting requirements, creating system specifications, designing processes, and ensuring successful implementation and user adoption. Key tasks include analysing business processes, recommending improvements, liaising with stakeholders and developers, testing systems, and providing user training and documentation to meet organizational goals.
Key responsibilities
- Communicate with stakeholders to understand and document business requirements and needs
- Investigate and analyse existing business processes, procedures, and work practices to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement
- Develop functional specifications and designs for system and software solutions, often using techniques like data and process modelling
- Act as a central point of communication, providing guidance and information to management, developers, and users
- Work with development teams to ensure correct implementation and create test plans to verify system quality
- Produce user manuals, training materials, and conduct training sessions to support newly adopted systems and processes
- Monitor solutions after deployment to identify opportunities for ongoing enhancement
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to map end-to-end workflows, identify automation opportunities, and establish process governance structures
- Contribute to the maintenance of an enterprise architecture repository to improve visibility of business processes, system interdependencies, and strategic technology alignment
About you
- Degree in Information Technology
- Relevant Vendor Certifications
- Past work experience as ICT Business Analyst
- Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving: Analyse information, identify issues, and evaluate potential solutions to challenges
- Communication: Clearly communicate complex information both verbally and in writing, and actively listen to understand stakeholder needs
- Technical Knowledge: Possess a conceptual and working understanding of hardware, software, programming concepts, and data management
- Data and Process Modelling: Proficiency in using techniques to create explicit specifications for system design
- Project Management: Ability to apply project management principles to develop and manage project plans
- Adaptability: Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills to keep pace with the rapidly evolving technology landscape
