Waste Water Services specialises in the design, construction and commissioning of water and wastewater treatment infrastructure, including sewage treatment plants, potable water treatment systems, pump stations, filtration systems, chemical dosing systems and associated mechanical and piping infrastructure.

Our projects support major clients including BHP, Rio Tinto, Pilbara Minerals and Fortescue, as well as Water Corporation, local governments and regional communities across Western Australia.

Due to continued growth and a robust pipeline of projects, we are looking for an experienced Industrial Plumber to join our team.

The Role

This is a hands-on industrial plumbing role working across our Henderson workshop, Perth-based projects and remote project sites throughout Western Australia.

The role will involve a combination of Perth-based and FIFO/DIDO work, carrying out the installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance and repair of piping and mechanical systems associated with water and wastewater treatment infrastructure.

You will work on everything from workshop-built treatment plants and packaged skids through to pump stations, potable water systems and major site installations.

We are looking for an experienced plumber with strong industrial or mechanical experience who is comfortable working from drawings, solving problems in the field and taking ownership of their work.

What You'll Be Doing

- Installing, testing and commissioning pipework and mechanical systems associated with water and wastewater treatment infrastructure
- Working on potable water treatment plants, sewage treatment plants, pump stations, chemical dosing systems and packaged skids
- Installing and assembling PVC, HDPE, stainless steel and galvanised pipework
- Installing pumps, valves, fittings and associated mechanical equipment
- Carrying out valve replacements and upgrades on water and sewer infrastructure
- Completing pressure testing, leak testing and rectification of installed pipework
- Supporting installation and commissioning of pumps and fluid transfer systems
- Reading and interpreting P&IDs;, process flow diagrams, drawings and project specifications




- Identifying and resolving piping, hydraulic and mechanical installation issues
- Working on Water Corporation, mining and regional infrastructure projects
- Working alongside electricians, mechanical trades, engineers and project teams during construction and commissioning
- Completing project quality documentation including ITPs, test records and close-out documentation
- Supporting maintenance and breakdown activities where required
- Maintaining a high standard of workmanship, safety and housekeeping across workshop and site activities

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for an experienced plumber with a strong industrial, mechanical or water infrastructure background.

You will ideally bring

- WA Plumbing Licence
- Proven experience in industrial plumbing, mechanical services, mining or water/wastewater infrastructure
- Experience installing and working with industrial pipework systems
- Experience with pumps, valves and fluid transfer systems
- Experience with potable water and/or wastewater infrastructure
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs;, process drawings and piping layouts
- Strong understanding of pressure testing and leak rectification
- Good practical understanding of pump operation and fluid transfer
- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of tasks
- Construction White Card
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Full and unrestricted Australian working rights

Experience with Water Corporation assets, sewage treatment plants, pump stations, chemical dosing systems, filtration systems, reverse osmosis plants or similar process infrastructure would be highly regarded.

Poly welding/electrofusion, uPVC Schedule 80 solvent welding, Confined Space, Working at Heights, Gas Test Atmospheres and High Risk Work licences would also be advantageous.

This isn't a standard domestic or commercial plumbing role.

You'll be working on industrial water infrastructure where the plumbing and mechanical systems form part of a larger treatment process. That means working with pumps, valves, tanks, treatment equipment, instrumentation and other trades to get complete systems built, installed and operating correctly.

Our projects range from equipment built and assembled in our Henderson workshop through to installations and commissioning on major mining and regional infrastructure projects across Western Australia.

The role does involve FIFO/DIDO work, but you will also spend time working from our Henderson facility and on Perth-based projects.
