This is a fixed term, full-time vacancy available for 6 months, with the possibility of extension for a further 6 months and/or permanency. About The Role The Knowledge Information & Technology Directorate is accountable for the provision of services and technology that support strategic and operational services across the Department of Justice, enable information to be leveraged efficiently and ensure the Department’s investment in technology is optimised.

The Information Release Support Officer provides support to the Information Release Branch, assisting the management and release of information to external parties, in accordance with legislation, including under the Freedom of Information Act 1992 and the Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act .

The position is required to manage a diverse range of tasks, including;

- the preparation of confidential and sensitive correspondence and information.
- conducting documents and information searches.
- supporting team members with the release of information to external parties.
- administrative support for meetings/committees, filing.
- handling telephone inquiries from staff and members of the public.

Suitability Requirements Through the recruitment process, we will be looking for a candidate who can demonstrate skills, experience and attributes in relation to the following:

- An ability to understand the broader strategy of the KIT Directorate and the Department of Justice and apply them in day-to-day tasks.
- An ability to self-organise and prioritise work and maintain accurate records and files.
- The capacity to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.




- A commitment to continuous improvement in all aspects of work; ethical and professional conduct in all interactions; and a willingness to engage with risk.
- An ability to clearly and succinctly communicate in writing or in verbal discussions.
- Experience in the provision of administrative support in an office environment.

Permanent, fixed term, full time and part time appointments may be offered within the Perth Metropolitan area during this period.
