We are partnering wiht a enterprise organisation is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Lead to drive the modernisation and automation of a complex hybrid infrastructure environment.

This is a newly created opportunity focused on transforming traditional infrastructure operations through automation, Infrastructure-as-Code and modern engineering practices.

The Opportunity We're looking for a hands-on technical leader who enjoys building, automating and improving infrastructure environments rather than simply overseeing them.

This role will suit someone who has come from a solid Infrastructure Engineering, Systems Engineering or Infrastructure Automation background and still enjoys getting into the technical detail. You'll have the opportunity to shape automation standards, influence tooling decisions and lead engineering outcomes, while remaining actively involved in implementation and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design and implementation of infrastructure automation solutions across hybrid environments.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code solutions and reusable automation frameworks.
- Personally contribute to the automation of provisioning, configuration, patching and infrastructure lifecycle management.
- Drive improvements across Windows, virtualisation and cloud infrastructure platforms.
- Develop automation standards and engineering best practices.
- Identify opportunities to eliminate manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security and engineering teams to modernise platform operations.
- Provide technical mentorship and leadership while remaining actively involved in the delivery of solutions.
- Evaluate and recommend automation tools,



frameworks and approaches that support long-term scalability and operational excellence.

About You You are a strong infrastructure professional who has successfully evolved into automation and Infrastructure-as-Code, while remaining deeply technical and hands-on.

Essential Experience

- Strong background in Infrastructure Engineering, Systems Engineering or Infrastructure Operations.
- Deep knowledge of Windows Server environments.
- Experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V platforms.
- Demonstrated experience building infrastructure automation solutions from the ground up.
- Strong Infrastructure-as-Code capability using Terraform, Ansible, Puppet or similar tooling.
- Experience automating server provisioning, configuration management and operational workflows.
- Azure infrastructure experience within enterprise environments.
- Ability to combine technical leadership with hands-on delivery.
- Comfortable being the technical driver of automation initiatives rather than operating solely in an architectural or managerial capacity.
