Senior Cloud Operations Engineer - Hybrid

We are partnering with a leading organisation to find an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to join its technology and platform operations function.

n

This is a hands-on senior engineering role for someone who enjoys working across cloud infrastructure, automation, DevOps and platform operations. You will play a key role in maintaining and evolving a modern cloud environment, improving operational maturity and reducing manual effort through automation.

You'll work closely with teams across DevSecOps, Security, Identity, Networking and Modern Workplace, while contributing to the ongoing reliability, scalability and future growth of critical platform services.

What you'll be doing

- Administering and supporting Windows and Linux servers within Microsoft Azure
n
- Designing and managing cloud solutions aligned with architectural, security and operational standards
n
- Building automation and orchestration capabilities to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes
n
- Developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code using ARM and Bicep
n
- Contributing to DevOps practices, automation frameworks and cloud service design
n
- Supporting the ongoing development and optimisation of Azure platform services
n




- Providing L2/L3 technical support for critical services and participating in an on‐call roster
n
- Supporting major incident escalations and complex operational issues
n
- Working with internal technology teams and external vendors to maintain and improve platform services
n
- Mentoring and supporting other team members while helping drive continuous improvement across the platform operations function
n

What we're looking for

n

n
- 7+ years' experience in IT, including at least 3 years in a similar cloud or platform engineering role
n
- Strong hands‐on experience with Microsoft Azure
n
- Experience across Windows and Linux infrastructure
n
- Proven Infrastructure as Code experience using ARM and/or Bicep
n
- Robust understanding of DevOps, automation and orchestration
n
- Programming or scripting experience with PowerShell and/or Python
n
- Experience working across infrastructure technologies including applications, databases, operating systems, storage, virtualisation, cloud services and backup technologies
n
- Strong troubleshooting and incident management capability
n
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
n
- Azure and relevant infrastructure certifications will be highly regarded
