Are you an experienced WHS leader ready to make a genuine organisation-wide impact?

We’re looking for a Manager, Operational WHS to lead a specialist team and drive a contemporary, proactive approach to workplace health and safety across a large WA Government department.

The Opportunity

You’ll take a lead role in strengthening safety culture, improving WHS performance and ensuring the organisation meets its legislative and regulatory obligations.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Leading and developing a professional WHS team.
- Driving the Department’s WHS Management System, improvement strategies and initiatives.
- Providing expert advice on complex WHS matters, incidents, hazards and critical risks.
- Monitoring performance and identifying opportunities to reduce risk and prevent harm.
- Building strong relationships with senior leaders, employees, regulators and external stakeholders.
- Leading WHS education, training and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supporting organisational change and embedding a positive, practical safety culture.

What You’ll BringYou’ll be a confident and influential WHS professional with:

- Strong experience leading operational WHS in a complex organisation.
- Contemporary knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management and industry best practice.
- Demonstrated people leadership and capability development skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- The ability to navigate complex issues and provide clear, practical advice.
- A cooperative, improvement-focused leadership style with a strong commitment to public service.





A current driver’s licence is required, and some travel within Western Australia may be involved.
