Youth Projects is looking for an experienced, innovative and influential senior employment services leader to strengthen service excellence across our Employment & Training services operating within the Transition to Work service model.

Based at Youth Projects HQ in Glenroy and reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this role will work closely with senior leaders, operational managers and specialist teams across the organisation to strengthen participant experience, frontline practice, contractual performance and service consistency.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who has led complex programs, regions or multi-site operations and is ready to step away from the day-to-day management of managers. Instead, you’ll apply that experience across our Employment & Training services, working with senior and operational leaders to strengthen frontline practice, improve the participant journey and turn recurring operational challenges into meaningful service-wide improvements.

You’ll combine strategic oversight with a strong connection to what is happening on the ground. You’ll spend time with leaders and frontline teams to understand how services are operating in practice, identify where systems, resources and ways of working could be stronger and help ensure agreed improvements are implemented consistently across our sites.

The Transition to Work contract and service model provide the framework for much of this work, but this is not a role focused on compliance for compliance’s sake. You’ll translate complex contractual requirements into practical, youth-centred ways of working that strengthen engagement, progression and outcomes for participants.

Ultimately, this role is about making sure every young person receives the same high-quality service from Youth Projects, regardless of which team, site or staff member is supporting them.

What you’ll be doing

- Lead service-wide improvements that strengthen the participant journey, frontline practice and service consistency across Employment & Training
- Work with senior and operational leaders to establish clear practice expectations across teams and locations
- Translate Transition to Work contractual requirements into practical, youth-centred guidance, systems and resources
- Identify recurring operational, practice and compliance issues and turn them into sustainable improvements
- Use participant feedback, service data and operational insights to strengthen engagement, progression and outcomes
- Identify capability needs and work with leaders and internal teams to embed improvements across the service




- Collaborate across Youth Projects teams and services where shared systems, practice or participant pathways create opportunities for improvement

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for an experienced senior employment services leader who understands complex service delivery and can influence improvement across multiple teams and locations.

You’ll bring:

- Experience operating at a senior, regional, program or equivalent level within employment services or a closely related funded service environment
- Experience leading complex, multi-site or multi-stream services, programs or operations
- A strong understanding of employment services and the operational realities of working within funded and contractual service models
- Demonstrated experience influencing managers and senior leaders, building capability and embedding consistent ways of working across dispersed teams
- Strong ability to identify recurring operational, practice and compliance issues and turn them into practical, sustainable improvements
- Confidence using service data, participant feedback and operational insights to inform decisions, improve performance and strengthen participant outcomes
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to challenge constructively and influence without relying on direct authority
- Most importantly, a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people and a strong belief in accessible, inclusive and youth-centred services
