Floats WA are a proud Western Australian Company which is operating for more than 10 years. Floats WA is a specialist workshop based in Malaga, providing servicing, upgrades, repairs, and custom fit outs for horse floats, boats, trailers, and RVs. The business focuses on safety, functionality, and high-quality craftsmanship for anything that gets towed. We are currently seeking a Welder / Metal Fabricator to join our team located in Malaga for an immediate start. On site job-training will be provided to the right person.

The role will require the welding and fabrication of steel products. You will be technically minded with the ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications. The position is full-time, with at least 38 hours per week plus reasonable additional time when required.

Main Tasks:

- Fabrication and welding of steel
- Oxy cutting of all steel including lintels, t-bars and structural columns
- Assemble steel sections, lintels, beams,



columns and related structural components
- Work independently following detailed shop drawings and hand drawn details
- Checking fabricated and assembled parts for accuracy, clearance and fit
- Maintain a clean and safe work workplace
- Follow correct safety procedures and work practices
- Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision

Essential Requirements:

- Trade Qualified
- AQF Certificate III or equivalent
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of work experience
- Experience with light structural steel highly regarded
- Strong commitment to safety
- Be physically fit
- Punctual and reliable
- WA Driver's license
- Attention to detail
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Be able to work in a fast pace workshop
- Forklift ticket preferred
