As Workshop Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the workshop, coordinating staff and production priorities, and ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard. This is a hands-on leadership position where you will also be expected to weld, fabricate and contribute directly to production.
Key responsibilities
- Leading and coordinating the workshop team
- Allocating work and monitoring daily production
- Welding and fabrication of livestock handling equipment and associated products
- Monitoring jobs against allocated production times
- Identifying production delays or issues before they become larger problems
- Assisting and supporting other team members where required
- Maintaining an organised, efficient and protected workshop
- Checking completed work before it progresses to the next stage
About you
- Has strong welding and fabrication experience
- Has previous supervisory, leading hand or foreman experience
- Is comfortable being a hands-on working foreman
- Can confidently read and work from fabrication drawings
- Produces tidy, accurate and consistent work
- Understands the importance of completing work within allocated timeframes
- Can organise and prioritise multiple jobs
- Can work independently without constant supervision
- Has strong problem-solving skills
- Communicates clearly with management and other team members
- Is trustworthy and has a high level of integrity
